In 1976 Dover Publications commissioned her to write and illustrate two how to do books:
DESIGN YOUR OWN FLORAL APPLIQUÉ
FULL COLOR FLORAL NEEDLEPOINT DESIGNS.
These books were in print for twenty years.

In 1981 Scribner Publ. Published her first historical book written for children.

THE PENNSYLVANIA DUTCH FARMERS AND CRAFTSMAN published by MacMillan in 1983
THE JEWS OF NEW AMSTERDAM, published by MacMillan in 1986
THE EARLY PEOPLE OF FLORIDA, published by MacMillan in 1993

Presently Eva Costabel is writing her memoir and studying computer graphics at FIT in Manhattan.
